Brett spent his formative years on Kwajalein, an island on a remote atoll in the Marshall Islands, where the Pacific Ocean was his backyard and fishing became his passion. Those early years taught him the magic of friendship, instilled a deep love for the sea, an appreciation for island culture, and an understanding that paradise often harbors the most interesting stories.

Why write his debut novel now? To fulfill a promise to his mother, and to cross it off his bucket list.

Brett lives in California with his wife. They have three children and two grandchildren. When not writing, he is creating memories with his family, or can be found on the water, still chasing the perfect catch.
